These terms govern your use of SiteCortex. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

The Service

SiteCortex is an AI chatbot builder that allows you to create custom chatbots trained on your content and embed them on your website. The service includes chatbot creation, knowledge management, conversation handling, and analytics.

Account Terms

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use this service
  • You may not use the service for any illegal purposes

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Create chatbots that generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
  • Upload malicious files or content as knowledge sources
  • Attempt to access other users' data or chatbots
  • Use the service to impersonate others or spread misinformation
  • Resell or redistribute the service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Circumvent security measures, rate limits, or usage restrictions
  • Use chatbots to collect sensitive personal information without proper consent

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you upload (knowledge sources, documents, text)
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use and upload your content
  • You grant us a license to process your content to provide the service (generating embeddings, AI responses)
  • We do not use your content to train AI models
  • You can delete your content at any time

AI-Generated Responses

  • Chatbot responses are generated by AI based on your knowledge sources
  • AI responses may not always be accurate or appropriate
  • You are responsible for reviewing and configuring your chatbot's behavior
  • You should not rely on chatbots for medical, legal, or financial advice
  • We are not liable for any harm caused by AI-generated responses

Widget Embedding

When you embed a chatbot on your website:

  • You are responsible for compliance with applicable laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • You should inform your website visitors that they are chatting with an AI
  • If you collect emails, you must have a valid legal basis
  • You should link to your privacy policy explaining data collection

Conversation Data

  • Conversations between your chatbot and website visitors are stored
  • You can configure conversation retention periods (default 30 days)
  • You can view, export, and delete conversation data
  • You are the data controller for conversations on your chatbots

Payment and Billing

  • Free trial lasts 7 days with full access to features
  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance
  • Prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time
  • Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods
  • We may change prices with 30 days notice
  • Exceeding plan limits may result in reduced functionality

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SiteCortex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service, including any harm caused by AI-generated chatbot responses.

Termination

  • You may close your account at any time
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
  • Upon termination, your chatbots will stop working immediately
  • Your data will be deleted in accordance with our privacy policy

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.
